Kamal Kaur Bhabhi Murder: Accused Fled to UAE After Brutal Killing, Planned Attack 3 Months in Advance

n a chilling case that has shocked Punjab, social media influencer Kanchan Kumari, also known as Kamal Kaur Bhabhi, was murdered in a planned attack led by Amritpal Singh Mehron, a self-styled radical from Moga. Police say the murder was plotted three months ago.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Bathinda, Amneet Kondal, revealed that Mehron fled to the UAE just hours after the murder took place on June 9. A lookout circular has been issued against him, and efforts are on to bring him back through official deportation channels.

Two of his associates, Jaspreet Singh (32) from Moga and Nimratjit Singh (21) from Tarn Taran, have been arrested. One of them, Ranjit Singh, reportedly confessed that they killed Kanchan because of her “immoral and vulgar content” on social media, which they claimed was offensive to the community.

After the murder, Mehron even posted a threatening video, claiming responsibility and warning other female influencers to stop posting “objectionable content.” In the video, he chillingly said, “It’s not necessary that a body will be found every time,” referring to Kanchan’s body being left in her car.

How the Murder Was Planned and Carried Out:

  • Police said Mehron tracked Kanchan’s lifestyle and movement for months, even staying in hotels near Ludhiana to keep watch.

  • A fake car promotion event was used to lure her. On June 9, she left home in Ludhiana, telling her mother she was going for this event in Bathinda.

  • She was contacted by Mehron and his two accomplices, who told her they’d help with car repairs.

  • Mehron sat in her car’s backseat while the others followed in another car.

  • In Bathinda, under the guise of visiting a garage, they all got into Kanchan’s car.

  • Once inside, her phones were snatched, and Jaspreet and Nimratjit strangled her with a cloth.

  • Mehron fled in another car with an unidentified person, while the other two abandoned the car with her body near Adesh University.

  • They later returned to retrieve the murder cloth left behind.

  • Her body was discovered after locals reported a foul smell coming from the car.

Police say they are working with central agencies to bring Mehron back from the UAE. SSP Kondal emphasized the seriousness of the crime and warned that anyone involved in threatening or harming others under the guise of “moral policing” will face strict legal consequences.

Kanchan’s tragic death has sparked outrage on social media and raised serious questions about the safety of women influencers and the dangers of online hate and radical threats.
