Jalandhar Travel Agency Website Hacked: ₹10 Lakh Worth of Tickets

A big cybercrime happened in Jalandhar. Hackers broke into the website of a famous travel agency named Max World Immigration. They used the website to book airline tickets worth ₹10 lakh to Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.

The owner of the agency, Deepak Bhat, said he complained to the police on May 22. But the police did not take the matter seriously for two months. A case was registered only recently.

Deepak suspects that terrorist groups or human traffickers might be behind the hacking. He believes the tickets were booked to send people abroad illegally. He also said that if the police had acted earlier the passengers could have been stopped at the airport.

Police are also checking if someone from inside the agency helped the hackers. Only a few trusted employees knew the portal password. It is possible that the hackers got the password from someone inside or used special software to get access.

Now the police are investigating the case from a cyber and terror angle. A complaint has been filed against unknown people and efforts are being made to find the culprits soon.
