Jalandhar on Red Alert After Night of Missile Attacks and Explosions

Just a day after drone attacks, Jalandhar was hit by several missile attacks during the night of May 9 to 10. Loud explosions were heard at different times through the night, making residents scared and unable to sleep.

In Kangniwal village near Adampur, people were woken up around 1:30 am by a loud blast. When they came outside, they saw missile parts on the ground. A parked car was damaged, and a water tank in one house was cracked.

Right after the explosions, the district administration ordered a blackout at 1:30 am, which lasted until 6 am to prevent further attacks.

Missile debris was also found in Mand Maur village near Kartarpur and in Rampur Khalian village near Phagwara, where a missile left an 8-foot-deep hole in the fields.

After 7:15 am on Saturday, people heard at least four more blasts. Sirens were sounded across the area.

Jalandhar’s Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal, said, “Jalandhar was on red alert all night. Many objects were seen and were neutralized by the armed forces. Stay calm and stay indoors as much as possible.”
