Jalandhar Doctor Shot: The police apprehended the accused after criminals arrived with the intention of robbing and looting a car; MLA Khaira declared that the attack on the doctor was cruel.
A kidney hospital doctor was shot in the leg during an attempted robbery on Tuesday night around 8:30 PM in Jalandhar, Punjab, close to the home of MP and former cricket player Harbhajan Singh. There has been no evidence of kidnapping in this case. The victim has been identified as Heights resident Dr Rahul Sood.
The robbers have been recognised by the police, and they will all soon be taken into custody. “The accused came with the intention of robbing,” stated Surinder Singh Kamboj, the CIA staff’s in charge. The case has been resolved in 90% of cases. The police have begun a raid to find the accused as of this Wednesday morning.
Clear CCTV footage of the accused has been provided to the authorities, aiding in their identification. The motivation behind the incident has been revealed, and the accused has been contacted by the CIA staff team. The issue has nothing to do with kidnapping. High-ranking authorities will thus conduct a press conference to exchange information.
MLA Khaira condemns the incident, says CM Mann should take action

Condemning the incident, MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira from Kapurthala said, “In one of the busiest areas of Jalandhar, Dr Rahul Sood (nephrologist), who has saved countless lives, was shot by unknown assailants with the intention of kidnapping and robbing. An attack on a doctor is an attack on humanity. We stand with him and his family in this difficult time. I urge CM Bhagwant Mann to take swift action and bring the culprits to justice.”
