Iran’s President Condemns Pahalgam Terror Attack, Calls for Regional Unity Against Terrorism

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian spoke with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. He said Iran fully rejects such “inhumane acts,” according to a post by Iran’s embassy in New Delhi on X (formerly Twitter).

President Pezeshkian said that attacks like these show that all countries in the region must work together to fight terrorism. He called for unity, cooperation, and understanding to bring lasting peace and safety to the region.

He also praised India’s leaders like Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru, calling them messengers of peace and friendship. Pezeshkian said he hopes that this spirit of peace will continue to guide India’s relations with other countries.

The attack in Pahalgam happened on Tuesday, where terrorists opened fire, killing 26 people, most of them tourists. It was the deadliest attack in the area since the 2019 Pulwama incident. The Resistance Front (TRF), linked to the banned Pakistan-based group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), claimed responsibility for the attack.
