Social media influencer Apoorva Mukhija, known as The Rebel Kid, shared disturbing screenshots of death, rape, and acid attack threats she’s received over the past few months, following the controversy around the YouTube show “India’s Got Latent.”
Mukhija, who has over 3 million Instagram followers, was among the panelists on the show episode that sparked massive outrage over comments made by YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia on parents and sex. The episode led to FIRs against the organisers, including host Samay Raina, and panellists including Mukhija.
On Tuesday, Mukhija returned to Instagram and posted a trigger warning alongside screenshots of the hateful messages:
“Trigger Warning: This post contains mentions of acid attacks, rape threats, and death threats.”
She added, “And that’s not even 1%.”
The influencer had deleted all her posts last week following the controversy. The show’s host, Raina, also removed all episodes from YouTube.
Mukhija has already appeared before Mumbai Police regarding the case. The National Commission for Women (NCW) has also summoned all involved — including Allahbadia, Raina, Mukhija, comedians Jaspreet Singh, Ashish Chanchlani, and producers Tushar Poojari and Saurabh Bothra — over the offensive content.
Last week, Ranveer Allahbadia returned to social media saying he would be more cautious with what he posts in the future.
