India Says Operation Sindoor Caused Heavy Losses to Pakistan Military and Terror Groups

India on Sunday announced that it caused major damage to Pakistan’s military and terror networks during Operation Sindoor, which was launched in response to the Pahalgam terror attack on May 7.

At a press conference, top military officials revealed that 35 to 40 Pakistani soldiers were killed and several fighter jets with modern technology were shot down. Nearly 100 terrorists, including top figures involved in past major attacks like the IC-814 hijacking and the Pulwama bombing, were also killed.

Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai, the Director General of Military Operations (DGMO), said that India lost five soldiers—two from the Air Force and three from the Army.

When asked if India lost any of its own fighter jets, Air Marshal AK Bharti replied, “Losses are part of combat,” but did not share exact details, saying it could benefit the enemy. He confirmed that all Indian pilots are safe and back home.

Bharti also said that while the wreckage of Pakistani jets fell on their side of the border, Indian forces definitely shot down a few planes and stopped them from entering Indian airspace.

The DGMO warned that any future aggression from Pakistan would be met with “decisive force.” He said Operation Sindoor was carefully planned to destroy terror camps and training centers across the border.
