After the success of Operation Sindoor, which targeted terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), India is planning a major global campaign. The goal is to show the world how Pakistan is connected to terrorism and to counter false stories about the Indian military operation.
As part of this outreach, eight teams made up of Indian MPs and senior politicians will travel to different countries. They will meet foreign political leaders and media to explain India’s side and expose Pakistan’s support for terrorism.
Leaders from many political parties will be part of this mission. Some well-known names include Ghulam Nabi Azad, Salman Khurshid, Shashi Tharoor, Manish Tewari, Asaduddin Owaisi, Supriya Sule, Priyanka Chaturvedi, Kanimozhi, and Vikramjit Sahney. BJP leaders Ravi Shankar Prasad, Anurag Thakur, and others from NDA parties will also join.
This is not the first time India has sent such delegations. In 1994 and again in 2008 after the Mumbai attacks, similar efforts were made to show Pakistan’s terror links. Those efforts helped India diplomatically.
The current outreach is being coordinated by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, who is talking to all political parties about who will be part of the delegations.
Each group will visit different regions:
Shashi Tharoor may go to the US.Manish Tewari may lead the group to Europe
Supriya Sule will go to Oman, Kenya, South Africa, and Egypt
Salman Khurshid may head to Japan, South Korea, and Singapore
Another group will visit Kuwait, Bahrain, and Algeria
The goal is to show global leaders that India’s military response was measured and targeted only at terrorist infrastructure, not civilians or Pakistani military areas. India wants to make it clear that:
Any future terror attack will be treated as an act of war
India’s only issues with Pakistan are PoK and terrorism
There is no intention of war, but India will defend its people
The outreach will happen from May 22 to June 3 and aims to build global understanding and support for India’s actions and position.
India is also trying to get the UN to officially label The Resistance Front (TRF) as a terrorist group.
