India Develops Low-Cost ‘Bhargavastra’ System to Destroy Enemy Drones

A new low-cost counter-drone system called ‘Bhargavastra’ has been developed by Solar Defence and Aerospace Limited (SDAL). This system uses micro rockets to destroy enemy drones and is designed in Hard Kill mode, meaning it physically hits and destroys the target.

The rockets were tested successfully at the Seaward Firing Range in Gopalpur on May 13. Three trials were done in front of senior Indian Army officials. In the first two trials, one rocket was fired in each. In the third trial, two rockets were fired together within two seconds.

All four rockets worked perfectly, meeting all the required standards. The success of these tests shows that Bhargavastra is a big step forward in protecting the country from the growing threat of drone attacks.
