Chandigarh saw heavy rain and strong winds early Thursday morning. However, the weather improved by the time most ਲੋਕ woke up, and the sun came out. The ਸ਼ਹਿਰ received 8.3 mm of rain. ਪੰਜਾਬ and Haryana also had rainfall during this period.
In Himachal Pradesh, a sudden storm hit many areas on Wednesday night. The storm caused a lot of damage—power cuts, trees falling, and vehicles getting damaged were reported from several places.
The worst impact was on farmers in upper Shimla, where apple and other fruit crops were badly damaged by the strong winds. Many fruit growers have suffered big losses due to the storm.
