Heartbreaking Suicide in Jalandhar: Young Woman Ends Her Life; Mother Alleges She Was Imprisoned in the ‘Kothi’ (Bungalow).
Jalandhar: It has been revealed that a young woman committed suicide by hanging herself. Sonia, a resident of Jamalpur, Ludhiana, has been identified as the dead.
Based on the information provided, Sonia was employed as a domestic servant at a “Kothi” (big house/bungalow) in Urban Estate, Phase-2. According to the woman’s mother, Sonia took this drastic measure since her employers had imprisoned her inside the Kothi.
When the mother arrived, she ordered that the Kothi owner face severe consequences. After taking the body into custody, the police sent it to the Civil Hospital for a post-mortem examination. According to police, the case is presently being investigated, and the deceased’s family’s statement will determine the course of action.
A young woman employed in the “Kothi” (bungalow): Late on Wednesday night, Rano, a 21-year-old resident of Grover Colony, Jalandhar, committed suicide by hanging herself inside the “Kothi.” Along with her mother and sister, the young lady resided in this “Kothi.” She was employed as a domestic helper there.
Hanged Herself in the Servant Room: Police from the Basti Bawa Khel Police Station arrived at the scene after learning of the occurrence. CCTV footage has been collected from the location, according to the police. In the video, Rano is seen using a ladder to hang herself. In the ‘Kothi’ servant chamber, she committed herself by hanging herself.
She was abused by young people, making the Kothi (bungalow) unsafe: According to the mother of the deceased, Rani informed her that the Kothi was dangerous a few days ago. Around three in the morning, a young man who works in a nearby industry broke into the servant quarters and groped Rani. The owner did not react to this incident and did not let Rani leave the house.
When Rani’s daughter requested a cake, her mother responded, “My daughter had been working in the Kothi for one and a half years.” It was me that secured her this position. She was being harassed by the boy who lives at the factory next door. The youngest daughter’s birthday was yesterday. Rani, the older daughter, promised to bring her a cake during their phone conversation.

Sister Talks: The Kothi People Began Fighting
According to the girl’s sister, the Kothi proprietors called to inform them that Rani had taken her own life. “They began arguing with us as we arrived at the Kothi. They instructed us to collect the corpse and depart.
At the Kothi, my sister was being held against her will. She had no desire to remain there. She told me over the phone that she was experiencing harassment there. “I don’t want to live suffocated; take me away from here.” However, the proprietor of Kothi claimed that the girl was having an affair. They used to have a lot of arguments.
Both parties’ statements have been recorded, according to SHO.
