Union Petroleum ਮੰਤਰੀ Hardeep Singh Puri has strongly criticised the recent pro-Khalistan protests in Canada, just days before the upcoming G7 Summit. Speaking at an event in Delhi, Puri referred to the protesters as “hired stooges” and urged ਲੋਕ not to take them seriously.
“One more video is going viral showing these ਲੋਕ protesting because they didn’t receive funding from a neighbouring country,” he said, adding in Hindi, “Yeh jo kiraye ke tattu hain (These are hired stooges). Don’t take them seriously.”
Puri made these remarks while inaugurating an exhibition celebrating 11 years of Prime ਮੰਤਰੀ Narendra Modi’s ਸਰਕਾਰ and 100 days of the Delhi BJP ਸਰਕਾਰ. The event took place at the BJP headquarters at 14, Pant Marg in New Delhi.
Prime ਮੰਤਰੀ Modi is expected to travel to Canada from Cyprus soon, as part of his international visit to attend the G7 Summit, hosted by Canadian Prime ਮੰਤਰੀ Mark Carney.
Responding to concerns about rising fuel prices amid the Iran-Israel conflict, Puri assured that ਭਾਰਤ’s energy supplies are stable. “We have enough stock, and domestic production is also increasing,” he said.
