Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib opened for devotees in Pakistan: the Centre did not take a decision on opening the corridor; anger in Punjab-Sikh organisations.
The Narowal district of Pakistan is home to the freshly opened Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib for universal devotees. Devotees of Sikhs in India will still be unable to access this sacred location, nevertheless. Punjab and Sikh organisations are becoming more irate since the central government has not decided whether to activate the corridor.
About 11 feet of water entered the Kartarpur Sahib complex during the recent floods in Punjab province. The Gurdwara Sahib was forced to close as a result. Repairs and cleanings were finished after the water subsided, and now Pakistani worshippers are abroad. A large number of Pakistani and foreign devotees have been visiting since it reopened.
Punjab’s Cooperation and Jail Minister, Harpal Singh Cheema, has urged the central government to immediately take a decision to reopen the Kartarpur Corridor.

“Day of Merging with the Divine Light.”
It is used in Sikhism to commemorate the day a Sikh guru passed away and their spirit is believed to have merged with the supreme light or divine being.
