Governor Said: Punjab is Number 1 in Drug Abuse: Control Will Not be Achieved Only by the Efforts of the Government and a Few People; Action Taken in 5 Months.
Chandigarh is commemorating Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s 150th birthday. This time, Gulab Chand Kataria, the governor of Punjab and the administrator of Chandigarh, took part in the “Run for Unity” event at Sukhna Lake as the main guest. He discussed drug misuse in Punjab during the occasion, stating that the problem is not unique to Punjab.
“Everyone is suffering the effects of this disaster today. Even though we’ve come a long way, Punjab still leads the country in drug abuse. We must overcome this obstacle for India’s future as well as for ourselves. A powerful [country] will emerge if our youth generation becomes weak.
“Everyone will soon succeed if they work together. Succeeding in this with just the government’s and a few individuals’ efforts will take time.”
In the last four to five months, he claimed, the government had taken action through its agencies. “We’ve also made an effort. This involves a large number of religious leaders. Success will undoubtedly be attained if we persevere; if not now, then tomorrow.

The governor’s whole message emphasizes that the government, religious authorities, and the general public must work together to address Punjab’s drug problem.
Patel was India’s architect.
According to the Administrator, Sardar Patel was given the duty of uniting the princely kingdoms in order to create a united nation following India’s independence, a mission he successfully accomplished. He was successful in uniting the 562 small and major princely entities that existed at the time.
He integrated people into India by treating those who showed some resistance harshly and those who showed understanding. In the current map of united India, Sardar Patel’s contribution is still crucial. In actuality, he was the creator of contemporary India. We must realize the ambition of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” (One India, Great India).

Patel never attempted to split the nation.
No one has ever claimed that Sardar Patel worked to destroy society, according to the governor. He claimed that Sardar Patel restored the nation’s trust by rebuilding the Somnath Temple.
He said that although the Prime Minister at the time did not want the President to attend that program, President Dr. Rajendra Prasad did so as a result of Patel’s efforts. This is significant because the symbols of our regard will teach and encourage our children. Sardar Patel always spoke for the nation, not for himself.
