Gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria was brought from Assam’s Silchar Jail to Amritsar and taken into custody by Batala Police.
Jaggu Bhagwanpuria, a notorious mobster, was transported to Amritsar from the Silchar Jail in Assam. Around one in the morning on Thursday, he was transported to Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport in Amritsar, from which he was driven straight to Batala. Today, the Batala Police will appear in court with Jaggu and request that he be placed under detention.
Fear of Meeting
It is important to note that this is Jaggu’s first trip to Punjab following the murder of his mother. Jaggu has petitioned the Punjab and Haryana High Court, stating that he fears being attacked by rival criminals or killed by the police during a fictitious encounter. In order to prevent any security lapses, Jaggu has requested in his plea that he be placed under CCTV surveillance, be taken into custody while handcuffed and chained, and have the entire process videotaped.
Mother Murdered in Batala
About three months ago, rival criminals shot and killed Jaggu’s mother in Batala. His mother and another individual were killed in that attack. Jaggu is also a suspect in the murder case of Sidhu Moosewala. He is charged with supplying vehicles and firearms to the Lawrence gang gunmen.
