Flights Resume at London Heathrow After Power Outage Disrupts Travel

Air India, Virgin Atlantic, and British Airways resumed their scheduled flights from Delhi to London Heathrow (LHR) on Saturday after the airport recovered from a power outage that disrupted travel plans the previous day.

On Friday, many flights were canceled, affecting thousands of passengers, including those traveling from India. However, by Saturday morning, flights from Air India, British Airways, and Virgin Atlantic to LHR were back on schedule. Air India also has another flight planned for departure in the afternoon.

The Delhi airport has six daily flights to LHR, British Airways operates eight flights daily between India and LHR, including three from Mumbai and two from Delhi, while Virgin Atlantic has five daily flights from Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. Air India has six flights connecting to LHR.

Heathrow Airport confirmed on X that flights had resumed and reassured passengers that they were “open and fully operational,” adding that teams were working to assist passengers affected by the power outage caused by an issue at an off-airport substation.
