October 14, 2025, Ludhiana: The Ludhiana Police have filed a formal complaint against Anjana Om Kashyap, the managing editor and host of Aaj Tak. She is charged with insulting Maharishi Valmiki at one of her performances, reportedly offending the religious feelings of the Valmiki community. The Bhartiya Valmiki Dharam Samaj (BHAVADHAS) filed the case, and Aroon Purie, the chairman of the India Today Group, was listed as an accused in the lawsuit.

In her show, which was shown on the channel’s official social media platforms, Anjana Kashyap allegedly used offensive language for Maharishi Valmiki, according to the complaint by Choudhary Yashpal, the National Convenor of Bhartiya Valmiki Dharam Samaj. Since the situation has gotten worse, a number of Dalit groups and political figures are calling for Anjana Kashyap to be arrested right away.
