Electricity Workers to Gherao Minister Arora’s Residence in Ludhiana: Police Barricading and Water Cannons Deployed; Workers Fume Over Selling of Corporation Assets.
Today, power workers in Ludhiana will protest in front of Minister Arora’s home. The Central Government’s Electricity Bill-2025 and the selling of corporate assets are the targets of this significant workforce protest.
Around 12 PM this afternoon, all of the state’s power staff associations will gherao (surround/picket) Sanjeev Arora’s official residence. The administration has stationed police officers all across the region in consideration of the security during this period. Every road leading to the Minister’s home has been blocked off, and water cannons are on hand to deal with any bad situation.
Ten valuable properties were allegedly sold.
Sources claim that this protest was started by all unions representing electricity workers in an effort to thwart the decision to sell ten valuable assets and to impede the implementation of Electricity Bill 2025. According to union leaders, this campaign will involve farmers, students, and other social groups in addition to workers.
