E-Bus Service to Start in Amritsar from 2026: Tender worth ₹3.63 Crore Issued, Mayor says Old BRTS Buses are Out of Order.

The city of Amritsar has made significant progress in updating and improving its ecologically friendly public transportation infrastructure. Next year, 100 new electric buses will be introduced for use on the city’s highways under the Prime Minister E-Bus Service Scheme. The Punjab Budget 2025 also made this announcement, and the process of putting this plan into action has now started.

The procedure of choosing the land required to give this plan a tangible form has been finished by the Municipal Corporation. The bus depot, charging stations, and other facilities would be included in the ₹3.63 crore basic infrastructure for e-buses, according to officials.
