On Tuesday, September 9, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flew across the flood-affected regions of Himachal and Punjab. Following his visit with flood victims, he declared that Punjab would receive ₹1600 crore.
Following the tour, PM Modi posted a video to his Instagram account showing him speaking with Punjab flood victims. “One should not assume that there is no one to ask about their well-being or to hold their hand at such a time,” he stated. “The central government supports them,” he said.

PM meets with 19 flood victims
During his visit to Gurdaspur on Tuesday, PM Modi surveyed the flood-affected areas by helicopter. Afterward, he met with 19 farmers whose crops had been damaged by the floods. He then also met with NDRF and SDRF personnel engaged in rescue work. Finally, he held a meeting with officials and ministers of the Punjab government. In the end, he announced a grant of 1600 crore rupees for Punjab. He also said that every person would be helped in every possible way.
