Deputy Commissioner Dr Sona Thind Conducts Surprise Inspection of Special Repair Works on Rural Link Roads

Today, a surprise inspection of the special repair work being done on several rural connection roads in the district was carried out by Deputy Commissioner Dr Sona Thind and technical specialists.

The DC carefully examined the quality of the building materials being utilised while inspecting several rural link roads in Fatehgarh Sahib, Mandi Gobindgarh, Amloh, and other locations. She gave the government’s executive agencies clear instructions that any compromise on the calibre of development projects would not be accepted.

Along with Additional Deputy Commissioner Arvind Gupta, Executive Engineer (XEN) of the Public Works Department Karan Mittal, and other officials, the Deputy Commissioner clarified that the use of standard material in road construction is required so that these roads can last longer and people can receive continuous, excellent facilities while examining the completed and ongoing special repair works of link roads. She told us that the quality of the work was determined to be satisfactory during the inspection.

According to the Deputy Commissioner, these unexpected inspections will go on in the future to keep an eye on the calibre of the job and the timely completion procedure.

She cautioned that stern measures will be taken against the relevant officials and contractors in accordance with the regulations if any carelessness or poor quality is discovered in the construction work at any site.

According to the Deputy Commissioner, the district administration’s primary goal is to give the district’s residents a robust and long-lasting road network infrastructure so that the connection roads are of standard quality.

According to the DC, link roads are a village’s lifeline, and anyone who attempts to interfere with this right would face severe departmental and judicial repercussions. She continued by saying that she would personally keep an eye on the development and calibre of these projects.

The Deputy Commissioner said that adherence to the rules and guidelines established by the Punjab Mandi Board and the Public Works Department must also be guaranteed. She also went over the required width for road construction, load-bearing capacity, and premix density.

From the beginning of the project to its completion, she gave the Executive Engineers instructions to continue supervision at different points.
