Deputy Commissioner Dr Sona Thind Oversees Closure of Two Breaches in Pouring Rain

Deputy Commissioner Dr Sona Thind promptly arrived at the location in torrential rain after learning of two minor breaches in the Bhakra Main Line’s Narwana Branch at Pillar No. 13443. She oversaw the repairs to seal these gaps herself.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Commissioner Dr Sona Thind stated that although the breaches were small, it was imperative to seal them as soon as possible as a preventative step because of the ongoing potential for intense rains.
She assured that Fatehgarh Sahib district is currently safe from any flood-like situation, but full vigilance is being maintained. All officials are conducting field visits and keeping a close eye on every situation. She also urged the public to be aware of and not believe rumours. She added that the water levels in Sirhind Choe and Patiala Ki Rao are well below the danger mark.
The Deputy Commissioner said that in response to today’s heavy rainfall, arrangements for draining water are being made through the concerned departments in any urban or rural areas where waterlogging has been reported.
Also present on the occasion were Tehsildar Paramprit Singh Guraya, SDO BML Rajesh Kumar, JE Gurwinder Singh, Gagan Kumar, and Manav Jindal.
