Demand to Fix Rates for Treatment and Tests in Private Hospitals

M.L. Verma presided over a meeting of the local Senior Citizen Association today at the Nagar Council office. The poor are compelled to seek costly treatment and tests at private hospitals because of the inadequate facilities at government hospitals; it was addressed during the conference.
The Association asks that the government set the costs for tests, intensive care unit care, and treatment of various illnesses in private hospitals so that people can afford care based on their financial situation.
Mr M.L. Verma urged everyone in society to lead a modest life on this occasion and underlined the need of paying close regard to social etiquette, including
- Stopping the habit of spitting and throwing garbage everywhere.
- Stopping the wastage of water.
- Covering the mouth while coughing or sneezing.
- Meeting everyone with a cheerful face.
- Following traffic rules.
- He stressed that the government should also make these topics a part of the syllabus in children’s books.
On the occasion of Shri Bhagat Singh Ji’s birth, the members also paid their respects and offered श्रद्धा सुमन (flower tributes/homage) and made a commitment to continue in his footsteps. To honour those who perished in the recent floods in Punjab, a two-minute silence was observed.
Distinguished social worker Shri Nakesh Jindal received recognition for joining the Indian Red Cross Society. Members Om Prakash Tangri and Shri M.L. Verma were wished a long life, and a cake was cut to commemorate their birthdays.
Members of the association also called on the government to address the problem of mishaps and the loss of life caused by stray animals on the roads.
Sardar Mehar Singh, a National Athlete who is beyond 65 and has won 33 races so far, was also recognised on this occasion.
