Jalandhar: DC Himanshu Aggarwal Issues Order, All Colleges Closed Today.
All private and government colleges and schools in the Jalandhar district will remain closed on September 1st, 2025.
Floods are now affecting nine districts in Punjab. Fazilka, Firozpur, Kapurthala, Pathankot, Tarn Taran, Hoshiarpur, Moga, Gurdaspur, and Barnala are the districts in question.
Since late last night, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, and Phagwara have been experiencing torrential rains nonstop. On September 1st, schools and colleges will be closed due to a warning issued by the Meteorological Department.
There are parts of the city that have never flooded before and are now underwater. The public has received a message from Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Jalandhar, informing them that district administration staff are vigilant and that there is no need for panic.
The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain advisory for Kapurthala, Jalandhar city, and the nearby rural areas.

The persistent rain has made the situation in Jalandhar city extremely dire, and it has also had an impact on the city’s upscale neighborhoods. Areas like Defence Colony, Model Town, PPR Market, Adarsh Nagar, and others have seen severe waterlogging.
Some stores suffered damage totalling crores of rupees as a result of their basements flooding.
