A heated argument turned into a physical scuffle between a customer and a store employee at D-Mart near Guru Nanak Mission Chowk on Wednesday afternoon prompting the intervention of Thana-6 police.
The customer Ravi Kumar, said he had returned to the store after billing to collect some forgotten items. While speaking to another customer in the queue he claimed that a store employee suddenly misbehaved with him and hit him leading to a fight between them. Onlookers tried to calm the situation as tensions rose.
Ravi Kumar later told police that during the altercation he lost both his gold chain and bracelet. However SP Ajab Singh stated that CCTV footage revealed Ravi was only wearing a chain and not a bracelet. The missing chain has since been recovered using the footage.
Police have registered a complaint and are continuing their investigation into the incident.
