The Congress on Tuesday hit back at the BJP after it raised questions about Rahul Gandhi’s recent foreign travel. The party clarified that Gandhi traveled to London to attend the graduation ceremony of his niece and will return soon.
Earlier, BJP IT chief Amit Malviya criticized Gandhi on social media, accusing him of “frequent disappearances” from the country. Malviya said, “Rahul Gandhi was on a secret foreign holiday just last week. Now, he has flown abroad again to yet another undisclosed location. Why these frequent disappearances? As the Leader of the Opposition, he owes the people of India answers.”
There were also rumors on social media suggesting Gandhi had gone to Bahrain. However, Congress sources clarified his flight route was New Delhi-Bahrain-London.
Responding to the BJP’s claims, Congress media head Pawan Khera posted on X, “The PMO is, as usual, up to its dirty tricks. It knows nothing else. Shri Rahul Gandhi has gone to London to attend the graduation ceremony of his niece and will be back shortly.”
Gandhi’s niece, Miraya Vadra, daughter of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Robert Vadra, is graduating from a university in the UK.
