Congress President Warring Says – Punjab Needs 25 Thousand Crores: Writes Letter to PM Regarding Flood Relief, Says – This is Not the Time for Politics.

In a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Punjab Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring voiced his dissatisfaction with the flood relief package.

People had great expectations before to the Prime Minister’s visit to Punjab on September 9, but Warring stated the relief package that was announced was disappointing and quite tiny.

“It was hoped that the Prime Minister would apply balm to the wounds of the people of Punjab after such a huge devastation,” he said. However, this did not occur. “This is not the time for politics,” Warring added.

Warring’s Demand: A 25 Thousand Crore Package for Punjab
Prime Minister Modi has been urged by Warring to provide Punjab with a flood assistance package worth at least ₹25,000 crores. He said that a meagre flood relief package had been provided by the federal government.

The Congress had previously called for ₹50,000 crores, but given the current circumstances, ₹25,000 crores in aid should be provided right away.

Warring claimed that the flood-affected population is suffering as a result of the Prime Minister’s attempt to overthrow the state’s Aam Aadmi Party government.

The people of Punjab have high expectations of the Centre, he said, and decisions should be made that go beyond politics during this trying time.
