A day after Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann criticized Rahul Gandhi, stating that he is not cut out to be a leader, Congress leaders Partap Bajwa and Amarinder Raja Warring hit back, accusing the CM of aligning with the BJP.
In a post on X, Bajwa lashed out at Mann, contrasting Gandhi’s efforts in the Bharat Jodo Yatra with the current state of Punjab under the CM’s leadership. He said, “Rahul Gandhi walked 4,080 km in the Bharat Jodo Yatra to unite India and fight for the poor and minorities, while Punjab drowns in drugs and despair under your #6pmNoCM watch—unfulfilled promises and skipped Budget Sessions. Rahul Gandhi defends the constitution in Parliament, while you avoid questions, echoing BJP lines.”
Amarinder Raja Warring joined the criticism, accusing Mann of being a “foot soldier” in the BJP’s troll army and taking orders from Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Warring further claimed that Mann was trying to be “more loyal than the King” and going the extra mile to please the BJP. He added, “As Aam Aadmi Party and its Punjab offshoot seem to become the BJP’s B-team, Mann seems to be lining up as one of the reserve players.”
Mann’s comments about Rahul Gandhi came on Sunday when he remarked that the Congress leader lacks leadership qualities. He said, “He doesn’t have that quality. God has not given him that. Why are you pushing him to become a leader? It’s not like a family fiefdom where the son takes charge after the father. Please leave him. Poor guy! He is very sad about where he has got stuck.”
