CM Nayab Singh Saini Releases ₹151 Crore for Housing Assistance under PMAY

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced the release of the first installment of ₹151 crore to benefit 36,000 eligible families in the state under the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana. Each eligible family will receive ₹45,000 to aid in the construction of their pucca houses.

The announcement was made during a program held as part of the ongoing budget session in the Vidhan Sabha, with Deputy Commissioners and chief executive officers of Zila Parishad participating virtually. Congratulating the beneficiaries, Saini emphasized the importance of home ownership for the poor, stating, “Today, through this program, the construction of 36,000 homes is starting in the state. This day will mark the beginning of a better future for all these families.”

The Chief Minister also mentioned the state government’s new policy to provide housing for migrant workers in industrial areas. Plans include constructing residential complexes, dormitories, and single-room accommodations in industrial estates, as well as building 1,600 rental flats in Sonepat.

He urged all officials to conduct awareness drives to ensure maximum registration of eligible families for the schemes, allowing beneficiaries to receive their housing assistance promptly. Key officials, including Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Arun Kumar Gupta and other department heads, were present at the event.
