CM Mann Holds Press Conference: Opens Treasury for Roads, Targets Opponents—Read the Key Takeaways.

Bhagwant Singh Mann, the chief minister of Punjab, gave a significant press conference on Saturday at his official Chandigarh home. He unveiled a significant development plan for the state during the conference, which included the release of a road construction budget exceeding ₹16,000 crore. Along with addressing matters pertaining to peace and order and the government bus strike, CM Mann also launched scathing political attacks on the opposition parties.

A ₹16,209 crore road project
The government earlier started a ₹4,092 crore project for 19,373 km of rural roads, according to CM Mann. The government is now moving forward by building 44,920 km of new roads, for which tenders will shortly be released. For this, a budget of ₹16,209 crore has been set aside.

The CM made it very clear that no official would request payment or take a commission from any contractor. But the quality of the road cannot be compromised in exchange.

In a recent move, the chief minister stated that contractors won’t get paid until the village panchayats are happy with the road material. For the next five years, the contractor that wins the contract will also be in charge of maintaining the road. Additionally, flying squads have been established for inspection.

Mann Discusses Temporary Recruitment and the Bus Strike
The CM blamed the past governments for the government bus strike. He claimed that the state is now paying the price for hiring temporary workers without following the correct procedures. “I don’t want anyone to lose their job,” Mann said. I communicate with the legal team every day, but the staff shouldn’t use a technique that causes the public inconvenience.”

Central Ministers Visit to Consume “Saag”: CM
Bhagwant Mann made fun of the federal government by claiming that Punjab has turned into a “Tourist Place” for central ministers. They come here, eat roti and saag (mustard greens), and promise to provide a report to the Center, but Delhi does not listen to them. There are just two people who make decisions there, he claimed.

Reaction to Gangsters and Randhawa
The chief minister responded to Congressman Sukhjinder Randhawa’s inquiries about law and order by saying that Randhawa should provide the identities and whereabouts of the gangsters. He claimed that Randhawa publicly uses the identities of these thugs, who were fostered by the previous administrations. Criminals were cautioned by the CM to forget that they would be able to flee if they attempted to disturb communal harmony by firing bullets.

Meeting the Player’s Family Without Politics
Mann also addressed the Haryana chief minister’s allegations that he had politicized a player’s death. “I went to share the grief of an affected family,” he stated. They thought I should get into politics at first, and now they say I’m playing politics. How is that politics? I mentioned the nation’s infrastructure.

gave a class to Ropar DC
The CM related an instance in which he called the Ropar DC and requested him to set up buses when he was at the Kurali bus terminal and no bus had arrived for thirty minutes. Additionally, he urged PRTC staff to avoid upsetting people, particularly because they frequently travel for prayers.
