The Chief Khalsa Diwan, a 123-year-old Sikh religious and educational organization, has restored the membership of 63 people, including Satyajit Singh Majithia, father of arrested SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia.
Their membership was earlier cancelled four months ago because they were not attending the organization’s meetings regularly.
However, the Diwan found errors in the list of cancelled members. According to Ramneek Singh, the honorary secretary, the list approved in March had “several mistakes.” So, it was recommended to take back the decision and re-check the list.
The general house and executive committee of the organization agreed and officially took back the resolution to cancel the memberships.
Ramneek Singh also requested members to avoid internal fights as it damages the image of the organization.
Following the instructions of the Akal Takht secretariat, the organization’s vice-presidents Santokh Singh Sethi and Tajinder Singh said a budget has been approved to hold a grand Kirtan Darbar on July 20, at the Diwan’s school, to celebrate the birth anniversary of Guru Harkrishan Ji.
Chief Khalsa Diwan head and AAP MLA Inderbir Singh Nijjar invited all members and their families to attend the event and receive the blessings of the Guru.
