Chandigarh-Amritsar Airport: Several Flights Delayed by Hours! Passengers Distressed.

On Thursday morning, travelers encountered significant challenges at the airports in Chandigarh and Amritsar. Flight operations were severely impacted by a technical issue with the check-in system, which resulted in multiple planes departing hours later than planned.

IndiGo Airlines flights were negatively impacted by the problem. Nearly seven flights that were supposed to depart from Chandigarh were delayed by this technical issue by 11 AM, which caused chaos at the airport.

These Flights Were Delayed from Chandigarh
Due to the system breakdown, the schedule of planes departing from Chandigarh Airport for several cities was completely disrupted:

  • Mumbai: The flight scheduled for 5:15 AM departed at 8:05 AM.

  • Delhi: The 5:20 AM flight was cleared for take-off at 8:20 AM.

  • Hyderabad: The 6:25 AM flight departed at 9:15 AM.

  • Bengaluru: The 8:00 AM flight was able to take off at 9:55 AM.

  • Others: Additionally, flights bound for Lucknow, Patna, and Jaipur also took off later than their scheduled times.

Amritsar also ceased operations.
At Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport in Amritsar, the situation was comparable. Due to technical issues, a number of IndiGo flights here also failed to take off. Two planes on the Delhi route (6E5215 and 6E2506) and the flight from Amritsar to Mumbai (6E278) were unable to take off on time.

The flight to Pune was delayed by five hours.
Passengers’ problems didn’t stop there. The Amritsar-Srinagar flight (6E6164) could not depart, requiring passengers to make alternative arrangements. Furthermore, the aircraft from Amritsar to Pune (6E6129), which was scheduled to travel at 11:50 PM, departed around 4:56 AM following a lengthy delay. Passengers were forced to wait at the airport all night during this period.
