The Central ਸਰਕਾਰ has banned 16 Pakistani YouTube channels, including big names like Dawn ਖ਼ਬਰਾਂ, Samaa TV, ARY ਖ਼ਬਰਾਂ, and Geo ਖ਼ਬਰਾਂ. These channels were accused of spreading provocative content, false stories, and misinformation against ਭਾਰਤ, its Army, and security forces.
This action was taken after the tragic terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22, where 26 ਲੋਕ, mostly tourists, were killed. The attack happened around 2 pm at Baisaran meadow near the popular tourist town.
After the attack, political leaders from different parties came together in an all-party meeting called by Jammu and Kashmir ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ Omar Abdullah. They strongly condemned the terrorist act and showed unity against terrorism.
