The neighborhood’s residents were shocked by a startling incident that happened in Amritsar. A man broke into a calm person’s home and stole jewelry valued at lakhs of rupees while yelling, “Should I find a lock?” The event happened at the city’s Ram Nagar on Sultanwind Road.
Savita Puri, who resides with her family at Ram Nagar, Sultanwind Road, is the victim of the event. It had been days since the locker in her house opened. She heard someone outside in the street creating keys and locks while she was in the kitchen in the afternoon preparing lunch.
After some time of tampering with the locker, the crafty robber sent Danish away under the false pretense of requesting a screwdriver. He escaped with roughly 80 grams of gold jewelry after opening the locker as soon as he had the opportunity. Then he closed the locker once more and used the same guile to pretend to “open the lock.”
Later, he pretended to go outside to retrieve another key and fled. The family promptly lodged a complaint at the Division 8 Amritsar police station. The police have filed a case and are looking into nearby CCTV cameras.
The incident has angered the local population.
The administration has been urged by the neighborhood’s residents to step up its monitoring of questionable people and street vendors.
