Bypoll in Ludhiana West on June 19, Major Parties Announce Candidates

The by-election for the Ludhiana West Assembly seat will take place on June 19. The Election Commission has announced that the counting of votes will happen on June 23.

The official notice for the election will be released on May 26. Candidates can file their nomination papers until June 2. The papers will be checked on June 3, and the last date to withdraw names is June 5.

This bypoll is being held after the death of sitting AAP MLA Gurpreet Gogi.

With the election date announced, political activity in the area has increased. Leaders from AAP, Congress, and SAD are actively meeting with their party workers and supporters.

The Model Code of Conduct is now in effect.

AAP has chosen Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora as its candidate. Congress has fielded former minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu, while SAD has selected Parupkar Singh Ghuman. BJP has not yet announced its candidate.
