The Border Security Force (BSF) stopped a big infiltration attempt along the India-Pakistan border in the Samba Sector of Jammu. The incident happened during the night of May 8 and 9.
A BSF official said that a large group of terrorists tried to enter India, with help from the Pakistan Rangers who fired from their Dhandhar post. The BSF responded strongly, killing at least seven terrorists and damaging the Dhandhar post.
Due to rising tension, a nearby village now looks empty and deserted.
The Samba Sector has seen increased firing and drone activities in recent days. This area has faced similar attacks and ceasefire violations in the past. It is located near the National Highway that connects Pathankot, Jammu, and Srinagar.
