The Border Security Force (BSF) stopped multiple drone intrusions from Pakistan at the international border near Amritsar. In the last 24 hours, BSF soldiers shot down six drones and recovered about 2.34 kg of suspected heroin.
BSF said that these drones were being used to smuggle drugs into India. On Thursday night, several drones were seen near the Pul Moran border outpost. The BSF immediately used special counter-drone technology and brought down the drones.
Four DJI Mavic 3 Classic drones and three packets of heroin (weighing about 1.744 kg) were found in the farming fields near Pul Moran village.
In another incident near Roranwala Khurd village the same night, BSF jawans found one more drone with a packet of heroin weighing around 596 grams. The drone crashed due to BSF’s anti-drone action.
Early this morning, another drone was shot down near Dhanoe Kalan village.
BSF called it a major success and praised the alertness of its troops in stopping drug smuggling through drones.
