Breaking: Fire breaks out at government hospital in Amritsar. Staff break windows and evacuate admitted patients; chaos ensues.
Around 7:30 this morning, an unexpected fire started at the Civil Hospital in Amritsar, Punjab. Children and admitted patients were then removed. Around 7:45 p.m., Dr. Dhawan, a civil surgeon, received a call informing him that the civil hospital was on fire. He arrived at the location instantly.
He claimed that the front line was taken over by the hospital’s cleaning crew, security officers, and other employees. They collected the hospital’s fire control cylinders and extinguished the flames.
Employee Manjinder Singh stated, “In the morning, the fire began close to a refrigerator within the blood bank. Children’s lives might have been in jeopardy as the fire progressed. It was a huge fire. We all began the rescue effort as soon as the fire broke out. With much effort, we were able to save the patients’ lives.

“We arrived at the location in fifteen minutes,” Manjinder Singh added. We spent an hour dealing with the matter. In an attempt to put out the fire, we collected the fire control cylinders from every story and then shattered the windows.
Employee Vandana stated, “We had just arrived for duty and were standing downstairs. Someone rushed to inform us that the civil hospital was on fire. Our hearts are aware of our attempts to put out the fire. After smashing the windows, all of us workers got together and began putting out the flames before beginning the rescue effort.”
“We totally saved the lower floor,” Vandana stated. The fire was put out in roughly two hours. We worked to prevent the fire from spreading in any manner.
