A tragic blast targeted an army school bus in Pakistan’s Balochistan province on Wednesday, killing four children and injuring several others, according to a government official.
Yasir Iqbal, the administrator of Khuzdar district where the incident happened, said the bus was on its way to a school in an army cantonment and was carrying around 40 students when the explosion occurred.
Balochistan, the largest province in Pakistan by area but with a small population of about 15 million, has long faced unrest and violence. Despite being rich in minerals, the region has been troubled by a decades-old insurgency.
