Bikram Singh Majithia, a former minister and leader of the Akali Dal, had his bail request denied by a Mohali court. His judicial remand has been prolonged till September 29 in light of the court’s ruling. The Vigilance Bureau gave the court a chargesheet that was almost 40,000 pages long. According to the Bureau’s claims, Majithia has accumulated ₹540 crore in excessive assets.
Sukhbir Singh Badal, the head of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), paid a visit to his brother-in-law, Bikram Singh Majithia, at Nabha Jail. “The entire world is aware of the current government’s political vendetta against Majithia,” Badal told reporters after the meeting.
He went on to say that Majithia is in a good mood and would not be deterred by these acts; rather, he will keep fighting. It took thirty-five minutes for the two leaders to meet.
