Delhi ਪੁਲਿਸ, along with ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪੁਲਿਸ, have arrested a gangster linked to the banned terrorist group Babbar Khalsa International (BKI). The man, Akash Deep (also called Akash Singh), is in his early 20s and was caught near Delhi’s Red Fort.
He is accused of being involved in a grenade attack on the Lal Singh Qila ਪੁਲਿਸ station in Batala, ਪੰਜਾਬ, which took place on the night of April 6-7, 2025. He is also wanted in cases related to illegal weapons smuggling.
ਪੁਲਿਸ launched the operation based on secret information to catch criminals working in and around Delhi. During the arrest, ਪੁਲਿਸ recovered weapons from the accused. Special ਪੁਲਿਸ teams were also deployed to keep the public safe.
After the grenade attack, ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪੁਲਿਸ filed a case under the Explosives Act and the new criminal law, Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
This arrest is part of a bigger plan to stop organized crime and ensure safety, especially in important places like Red Fort. The investigation is still going on, and ਪੁਲਿਸ are checking the accused’s international connections.
