Arms Smuggling Gang Busted in Amritsar: 7 Arrested, Including a Minor; 15 Pistols Recovered; Were in Contact with Pakistani Handler.
A module smuggling guns from across the border was apprehended by the Commissionerate Police in Amritsar, Punjab. In addition to recovering fifteen illicit firearms from the arms smugglers, the police have detained seven members of this group.
Shamsher Singh, also known as Seema; Amandeep Singh, also known as Bobby; Balwinder Singh, also known as Kaka; Gurdev Singh; Karanpreet Singh; Harman Singh; and one youngster have been named as the arrested suspects. They all live in Amritsar. Nine Glock 9mm pistols and six (.30 bore) pistols are among the fifteen contemporary handguns that the police have retrieved from their hands.

According to information provided by Punjab’s DGP, Gaurav Yadav, the preliminary inquiry showed that the arrested culprit had a social media connection to a handler in Pakistan. This group actively supplied illicit firearms throughout Punjab.

At the Cantonment Police Station in Amritsar, a formal complaint has been filed against the detained suspects. According to the authorities, they are currently looking into all of the network’s connections, both past and present. According to the DGP, they are dedicated to dismantling the network of cross-border arms smugglers and stopping the proliferation of illicit weapons and organized crime within the state.
