Director AR Murugadoss, known for movies like Ghajini and Holiday, shared a touching story about his first encounter with Salman Khan in Chennai. The director, who is collaborating with Salman for the first time on the upcoming film Sikandar, which will release on March 30, talked about how he became a fan of the actor.
At the trailer launch of Sikandar, Murugadoss recalled his early days as an assistant director. He explained, “I was struggling as an AD and wanted to watch a shoot, so I went to Prasad Studios in Chennai. I requested the security guard to let me in. He agreed, but with two conditions: I had to stay in the corner and couldn’t talk to anyone. I was given only 20 minutes to watch.”
Murugadoss continued, “I didn’t know what the shoot was about, but I saw Sridevi there, which surprised me. Then, I saw a hero’s back as he was combing his hair, and it was none other than Salman Khan. I thought, ‘One day, I will direct him,’ and now after so many years, I am directing him in Sikandar.”
At the trailer launch, Salman also shared his experience working with Murugadoss. He talked about how the director pushed him, especially in the action sequences, to give his best performance.
