Announcement of Various Struggles, Including Burning Copies of the Electricity Amendment Bill and Seed Bill.

A special conference of the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) was organized at Shaheed Karnail Singh Isru Bhawan, Ludhiana, in response to the central government’s persistent attacks on the nation’s agricultural sector and working people for the benefit of corporations. Dr. Darshan Pal, Nirbhai Singh Dhudike, and Manjit Singh Dhaner presided over the meeting, which discussed the central government’s intention to introduce the Electricity Amendment Bill 2025 and the Seed Bill 2025 during the next Winter Session of Parliament.

The meeting decided to step up the vigorous public effort to have both laws canceled.

On December 8, a large-scale demonstration will take place throughout the state as the next action program against these bills. From 12 to 3 p.m., protesters will gather at every PSPCL/Electricity Department subdivision and burn copies of both laws. The SKM will host joint meetings in the districts on December 2 to complete district-level planning in order to guarantee the program’s success. In order to fully inform the state’s citizens about the anti-people nature of these two bills, it was also decided to produce and distribute two-page pamphlets on a huge scale.

The meeting unanimously called for the Punjab government to explicitly request in writing to the Central Government that these two anti-people and anti-farmer bills be canceled within a certain amount of time.

The Joint Forum, the Bijli Ekta Manch, and the TSU Bhangal Group were among the power department organizations that SKM officials had previously met with. They had a thorough conversation about managing the upcoming conflict in a coordinated way. As a show of support for one another, it was determined at this meeting to take part in each other’s action initiatives. On December 8, the electrical department organizations pledged to support the SKM’s program.

Additionally, the Samyukt Kisan Morcha has made the decision to work with Punjab’s farm and rural labor unions. Soon, a meeting will be convened to discuss this. The rural and farm labor organizations were urged to endorse the December 8 program as well.

The government’s police suppression of PRTC and Punjab Roadways employees who were demonstrating for their demands throughout Punjab today was sharply denounced by the gathering. The SKM called for the prompt fulfillment of the workers’ demands as well as the quick release of the leaders and employees who had been arrested. The Punjab government was cautioned at the conference to cease using force to quell protests.

Furthermore, the Samyukt Kisan Morcha hailed the leaders and struggling students on the reinstatement of the Punjab University Senate elections.

Buta Singh Burjgill, Joginder Singh Ugrahan, Mukesh Chandra Sharma, Avtar Singh Mehlo, Baljit Singh Grewal, Binder Singh Golewala, Baldev Singh Nihalgarh, Dr. Satnam Singh Ajnala, Ruldu Singh Mansa, Bhupinder Singh Aulakh, Bakhtaur Singh, and Manohar Singh were among the leaders in attendance.
