Announcement of August 20 holiday in Sangrur: Schools and colleges will be closed in observance of the anniversary of Sant Harchand Longowal’s death.
Another local holiday has been announced by the Punjabi government. In observance of the martyr Sant Harchand Singh Longowal’s death anniversary, the Sangrur district will have a holiday on August 20. On this day, the district’s government buildings, colleges, and schools will all be closed.
Notably, the Punjab government’s 2025 calendar did not include this holiday. But today, a notice proclaiming this municipal holiday has been released by the state government. As a result of this decision, the August 20 holiday will benefit Sangrur district students and government workers.
