Amritsar: Protest outside ਪੁਲਿਸ station late at night; ਪੁਲਿਸ raid during reconciliation talks, and relatives make serious allegations.
One group staged a late-night demonstration outside Amritsar’s Hakima ਪੁਲਿਸ station. The issue started four days ago when two groups in Fateh Singh Nagar got into a fight because they were looking at each other and competing with one another. Following that, both sides were summoned to Kamaljeet’s office, also known as Goldy, which is situated in the Paasi region, for a consensual resolution.
The boys from the group were taken to the Hakima ਪੁਲਿਸ station after the ਪੁਲਿਸ stormed Goldy’s office when one group arrived. The locals and relatives demonstrated outside the ਪੁਲਿਸ station late at night in protest of this move. The boy’s mother made allegations.
The fight had already been reported to the ਪੁਲਿਸ, but nothing was done about it. Consequently, the altercation recurred. Our lads were taken by force and beaten by the ਪੁਲਿਸ before a settlement was scheduled for ਅੱਜ. Additionally, the cops want money from us.
ਲੋਕ involved in the protest said:
According to Harpaal Singh, if a boy is found guilty, the law requires that he be taken from his home with a summons and a warrant. During reconciliation negotiations, it is completely inappropriate for the ਪੁਲਿਸ to illegally and violently remove them from an office.
The ਪੁਲਿਸ said that:
Because of the fight-related nature of this issue, the worried guys were taken to the ਪੁਲਿਸ station to be questioned.
