Amritsar MLA Kunwar Vijay’s Resignation Accepted: Removed from Assembly Committee; Has repeatedly made statements against his own government.

AAP MLA from Amritsar and well-known figure in Punjab politics, Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh, has stepped down from the Assembly committee. His resignation has been accepted by the Speaker of the Assembly, and a formal announcement has been made in this respect.
The announcement states that Kunwar Vijay Pratap was proposed as a committee member in accordance with Rule 180 of the Assembly’s Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business. On August 19, 2025, he did, however, file his application to leave the committee.

On a number of subjects, Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh has been at odds with his own administration. Kunwar Vijay Pratap, a former IPS officer, has been in the headlines lately because of the sacrilege event and the police inquiry. After leaving the police force, he entered politics and was elected as an MLA in 2022 on the ticket of the Aam Aadmi Party.
