CM on Jawanda’s Death: A Shining Star is Gone

Rajvir Jawanda, a Punjabi singer, died today, Wednesday, October 8. For the past eleven days, he has been confined to Fortis Hospital in Mohali. With many Punjabi singers and musicians flocking to his village and others expressing their emotions on social media, the Punjabi music industry has been rocked by sadness since the news of his passing.

Rajvir Jawanda was engaged in a catastrophic traffic accident a few days ago in the Himachal Pradesh region of Baddi. He was then taken to the hospital, where, while receiving treatment, he passed away from his wounds.

Bhagwant Mann, the chief minister of Punjab, too lamented his passing and described it as an irreversible loss to the Punjabi music and art community.

A few days ago, Rajvir Jawanda was engaged in a horrific traffic accident in Himachal Pradesh, close to Baddi. He was then taken to the hospital, where he passed away while receiving treatment.

Bhagwant Mann, the chief minister of Punjab, also lamented his passing, saying, “A brilliant star of Punjabi music has left us forever.”

CM stated:

“The voice of Rajvir Jawanda, who at a young age won people over with his melodies, will never die. May Waheguru’s feet hold the departed soul, and may He grant the fans and family the fortitude to endure this grief.”

While lamenting Rajvir Jawanda’s passing, Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan said on his social media account ‘X’ (previously Twitter) that he prayed that God would give Rajvir a spot in heaven and give his family courage.
