After a dispute over a buffalo’s dung, a former inspector attacked an elderly man, injuring him, near the police station.


KAPUR VILLAGE (JALANDHAR) – A retired police inspector became enraged and beat an elderly man with an iron rod after a fight broke out over a buffalo’s faeces close to the Aadampur police station. An old guy named Jaswant Singh was hurt and taken to a private hospital in Jalandhar. The report indicates that after filing a case against the accused inspector, the police have begun their investigation.

Sukhwinder Singh, the son of Jaswant Singh, informed the police that his father had worked for the government in the past. Balvir Singh, a former police inspector and their neighbour, owns buffaloes. Balvir Singh has repeatedly been warned about his practice of depositing buffalo dung outside Jaswant Singh’s home.

A dispute

The victim added that in addition to taking off his turban, the accused viciously thrashed him by yanking his hair before running away. CCTV cameras recorded the entire incident. Jagdev Singh, the victim, went to the Aadampur police station with his family and neighbours to lodge a formal complaint.

SHO Ravindra Pal Singh of the police station stated that a thorough inquiry has been started into this matter and that the culprits will face severe consequences. According to reports, the culprit was a police officer from Bullowal, Hoshiarpur, who retired around two years ago.
