Putin’s India Visit is on Day Two; Several Key Agreements are Expected to be Signed!

The second day of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to India is today, Friday. Putin went straight to the prime minister’s house after arriving in Delhi on Thursday night, when PM Narendra Modi gave him a private dinner.

Notably, the two leaders will have formal discussions today at Hyderabad House as part of the 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit. The world is keeping a close eye on Putin’s first trip to India since the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine.

The Full Schedule for Today (Minute-by-Minute)
At 11:00 AM, Putin’s formal programs for today will start.

Rashtrapati Bhavan: He will first visit Rashtrapati Bhavan, where he will receive a formal greeting.

Rajghat: After that, Putin will travel to Rajghat to honor Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation, at his tomb.

Hyderabad House: PM Modi and Putin will have their primary bilateral and delegation-level discussions here.

Meetings: He will meet with President Droupadi Murmu as well.

Launching: Putin will launch the Russian official broadcaster RT TV’s new India channel on the same day.

A Fresh Chapter of Friendship Despite US Tensions
Putin’s visit occurs during a delicate period when ties between the United States and India are at their lowest point in the previous 20 years. Washington has levied a 25% tariff on the purchase of Russian oil and a 50% tax on Indian goods. In this situation, Russia and India are working to deepen their strategic alliance.

Agreements Anticipated to Be Sealed
Following the summit discussions, the two nations are anticipated to sign a number of significant accords.

Defense Cooperation: Under the defense framework, a logistics support agreement could be signed.

Visa Regulations: A pact to make it easier for Indian workers to travel around Russia is probably going to be signed.

Trade: Increasing Indian exports to Russia in industries including consumer goods, food items, pharmaceuticals, and agriculture will be a priority.
